Windows clipboard comes with a fairly basic functionality. It only offers one copy of the copied stuff to be saved in the clipboard and the clipped item remains in the memory taking more memory if we copy a large item. Here I am listing down some clipboard software which offer enhanced functionality and serve as the default Windows clipboard replacement.
CCCCtrlC
A simple clipboard utility which can create unlimited number of clipboards and uses the default Ctrl – C, Ctrl – V and Ctrl – X shortcut keys to access the items in the clipboards.
Clipdiary
Clipdiary maintains a history of all the items that were copied to the clipboard and lets you paste any kind of information including rich text, formatting etc. It can also paste simple text without any formatting on request.
ArsClip
ArsClip remembers the clipboard items even on system restart. It works in combination with Windows clipboard and has a different shortcut key to be accessed i.e, Ctrl – Shift – Z. Clip editing is also available in ArsClip.
PasteCopy.NET
PasteCopy.NET is a portable Windows clipboard replacement which can show previews of the copied items residing in the clipboard in a resizable preview pane.

Shapeshifter is an advanced clipboard manager with high compression meaning that the items in the clipboard take a lot less space in memory.

MemoClip is a clipboard extender which can save multiple items in the clipboard for multiple days. Number of items to be saved and number of days to maintain the history can be configured.
iClippy
iClippy is an online replacement of Windows clipboard. It installs as a sidebar and keeps on saving all the items that are copied and then the copied items can also be shared on the web like on Twitter. It also has a very good OCR which can extract text from pictures.
Ditto Clipboard Manager
Ditto offers many features including unlimited clips, fast searching and multi-user network sync.
Clipx
ClipX is a tiny clipboard history manager good for older version of Windows including Windows XP and earlier.
Clip Magic
Clip Magic is like Microsoft OneNote which can remember source URLs, categories, annotations, spell check etc.

CLCL is a clipboard caching utility which can customize a different paste shortcut key for each application.
AccelClip
AccelClip is a simple extension to Windows clipboard utility which can work with text, graphics and other types of data conveniently.
HovText
HovText is a small open source Windows application which removes all the formatting including HTML code, color and layout from the copied item and pastes it as text.
Xteq URL Bandit
Xteq URL Bandit monitors the clipboard for copied URLs and saves them for later use. The URLs are saved permanently and are not deleted upon restart.
Visual Clipboard
Visual Clipboard lets you save multiple clips in the clipboard and then add notes to them.
